At The Norman Mailer Center and the Norman Mailer Writers Colony trust and confidence is vital. The Center and the Colony is committed to safeguarding your personal information and providing you with information and options about how this information may be shared. Please read this notice to learn more about The Center and the Colony's privacy policies and the options available to you.

This notice describes the privacy policies of The Norman Mailer Center. The privacy policies apply to all individuals who apply for Fellowships and workshops or in any communication supply the Center and Colony with their personal information.

Our Privacy Principles

  • We do not sell your information.
  • We do not provide your information to persons or entities outside of the Center and Colony who are doing business for their own marketing purposes.
  • We contractually require any persons or entities outside of the Center and Colony that provide products or services to you on our behalf to protect the confidentiality of their information.
  • We afford prospective Fellows and attendees of the Colony the same protections as existing Fellows and attendees in regard to the use of personal information.

If you are satisfied with the way that your personal information is collected and shared, you do not need to take any action at this time. This notice replaces all pervious statements of our privacy policy and may be amended at any time. We will provide you with annual reminders of our policies and with revised policies if there are any changes in how we handle your personal information. We sometimes obtain nonpublic information about you, which may include the following:

  • Information we receive from you on applications, questionnaires, documents or other forms including name, address, phone numbers, email addresses and in some cases a drivers license number or a Social Security number for identification.
  • Information about your travel and stay with us.

2. Information That We Share

We use or share information in a limited and carefully controlled manner. We use or share your information with the owner of the Condo where you will be staying, our staff in Woodland Hills, New York and Provincetown and faculty members in order to arrange your food and housing and classes. Examples of information that we may share include:

  • Information about your travel and stay with us.

3. Confidentiality and Security

The security of your information is important to us. Only those persons who need your information to perform their job have access to it. In addition, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural security measures to protect your information. Our employees have limited access to your personal information based upon their responsibilities and need to know. All employees are instructed to protect the confidentiality of your personal information as described in these policies, which are strictly enforced.
